Job Offer: Internship

We are looking for an intern for our company (No)MoreSleep and our magazine Freunde von Freunden.

MoreSleep is a creative company that specializes in concepts, consulting, design, and product creation.
Freunde von Freunden is an international interview magazine that portrays people of diverse creative and cultural backgrounds in their homes or within their daily working environments.

We are based in Berlin-Mitte and would prefer to work with people we can meet with regularly, or who can work from our office. We are looking for an intern with skills in frontend development and design to help us taking our growing family to the next level.

To apply for the internship, please send a short note about your skills and experience plus a list of sites you built and/or designed.
And to get to know you better, please tell us your three favorite movies.

The internship is paid. Please don’t send anything exceeding 5MB! Due to the anticipated volume of applications, we wont be able to get back on every application.

Please refer to Torsten when applying at (jobs@moresleep.net) and where you found the information.

It can’t always be Star Wars or how to find the right claim.

One of the more fun things about starting a new company is spending endless hours deliberating the smallest detail (sarcasm). Last week, we dug in on the ‘well, what’s our claim going to be?’ discussion.

The conversation started last week when Torsten was writing the job posting for an intern position: we needed to let everyone know what they were potentially signing up for! Here’s what we had on the table at the beginning:
– we’re creative.
– we do digital and print.
– we’re design driven.
– we want to conceptualize new ideas in various industries.
– we consult & educate clients.
– we create products.

The challenge for us was how to get all of that into a <140-character blurb that will be the first & last thing people know about us. So we did the logical thing: we took a look around. Our research took us far & wide: from design studios to social agencies, to full-service digital agencies to strategy companies. It was really enlightening to see the differences in how companies present themselves; you can really tell what kind of clients they’re going after and what kind of talent they want to attract.

For the following couple of days we bounced some ideas around and finally hashed it out. Surprisingly, it took us less than a half hour to come up with the claim: “MoreSleep is a creative company that specializes in concepts, consulting, design, and product creation.”

We think this works. Or at least it will until we come up with a better one. For now, we’re happy with it because it covers the most important disciplines, doesn’t include the word ‘agency’, and has some alliteration.

But much like the hideous coffee table that lived in my parents’ living room for almost 40 years – the one they bought when they were first married because they couldn’t afford anything better at the time – we’ll probably stick to this claim longer than any of us expect; eventually, it’ll just be a part of us.

Path-Goal theory

This is the official and verified blog of MoreSleep. Here we document our path of setting up a new company: MoreSleep!

We’ve learned a lot in the recent months and years. In particular: Accomplish more by doing less! That’s why our beloved Design studio NoMoreSleep which we set up in 2006 and sold to TBWA in 2010 is now becoming MoreSleep. A full fresh start in 2012.

We are still in the process of setting up MoreSleep and there is still a lot to be defined. So be part of the story of how we approach our goals. This is where we want to share our thoughts, ideas, our way and our experiences with you.
