Local hero and neighbour lala Berlin asked us to create a new digital appearance for their brand and online shop.
So far brand experience and online shop have been two separated things within lala’s digital appearance.
But why should emotional aspects that trigger the purchase be isolated from the actual „Buy“ Button?
We erased those borders and created a new site that draws a line from brand experience to inspiration and e-commerce by connecting a content-rich website with a slick online shop. This allows the lala team to invite the reader into the lala Berlin brand universe and leave with a full shopping bag.
Combining content and commerce requires new thinking in design and usability. Prototyping and evaluating various routes we came up with a result that provides structure and the necessary flexibility.
A fullscreen slider guides the user to the most important content. The flexible grid draws the user with its strong photo language into the world of lala, blurring the line between content and commerce.
Following the slick photo based appearance the shop provides inspiration and guidance.

Berlin’s famous label is much more than clothes. The journal dives into the world of lala touching art, music, friends and more, providing an inspiring in-depth view into the brand that makes the user want to return to the site. And when suitable each topic is seamlessly connected to the shop.
Within the process we supported lala with editorial strategy, concept and content production but also cms handling and content management to provide the team with all tools to maintain the site themselves.
